St. Francis High School (SFHS) congratulates junior Kyle Lewin ’21 for being recognized by the LA County Board of Supervisors for his excellent work as a Bio-Flex Intern! Kyle and a group of fellow apprentices were honored for their participation in the Bio-Flex bioscience development program. In addition, Kyle was awarded a paid biotech internship at the Pasadena Bio Collaborative Incubator this summer as acknowledgement for his ambition and volunteerism in coordination with our biotechnology education partners at the Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE).

SFHS Biology students are introduced to biotech skills used to research and create pharmaceuticals, like insulin, through the ABE curriculum. The Bio-Flex apprentice initiative aims to create a pathway for next generation Bioscience workers to well-paid careers through practical job experience. A special thanks to Kyle for blazing a biotech trail for future Golden Knights to follow.
